Naismith Drive Rules

Naismith Drive Rules/Scoring

Overview

Just like any pick 'em challenge, you have to fill out a bracket picking the winners of the first round to the overall champion.

Gene and I play, too.

"Mad since 2000"

You can fill up to three brackets for the challenge. All brackets are free this year. The prize is $21!

Gene and I will only take brackets up until the first game on Thursday of the first round.

The Scoreboard will be found here.

Scoring is pretty straight-forward:

Pick the winner of...

1st round = 1 pt.
2nd round = 2 pts.
Sweet 16 = 4 pts.
Elite 8 = 8 pts.
Final 4 = 16 pts.
Championship = 32 pts.

So, even if you bomb the first round, but your picked champion is still in it, then you are still in it.

Tie breaker? In case of a tie, whomever correctly picks the lowest seed to advance the furthest wins the tie. Correctly picking a #7 seed in the Sweet 16 will beat picking a #14 seed advancing to the second round.

If your brackets are similar enough that the tie breaker rule does not work, you will split the prize. Otherwise, winner take all.
